Faculty of Ecology

The Faculty offers Bachelor, Master, State Diploma Specialist and postgraduate programs in the following majors:
- Ecology and nature utilization
- Ecology
- Nature utilization and the following Master programs:
- Geo-ecology
- Nature utilization
- General ecology
- Economics of nature utilization
- Management of nature utilization
- Ecological monitoring
- Human ecology
The Faculty employs around 50 teachers, including 14 full-members and corresponding members of different academies, 21 professors, 23 associated professors. The total number of staff, service personnel and students counts 700 persons.
The Faculty trains students in the field of ecology and utilization of nature. At present, the Faculty keeps 500 students and about 100 postgraduate trainees. A wide professional training together with a foreign language learning enables the graduates of the Faculty to work in the field of nature preserving organizations in Moscow and in Russia, to be teachers in the establishments of higher education and research, to be employed in the Ministry of emergency situations and in the ecological militia, and also they can be experts in the international companies and joint ventures. The graduates of the Faculty work in 18 countries of the world.
There are 6 Academic Chairs:
- system ecology, ecological monitoring and forecasting
- human ecology
- industrial ecology
- radio-ecology
- management of ecological and economical system
- geo-ecology and eco-mathematics
The Faculty makes more emphasis to students research and creation of facilities for a professional growth of the young scientists. The Faculty is one of the leaders in the University in the volume of scientific researches. The Academic Chairs of the Faculty maintain co-operation links with the leading universities and research institutions of Russia and abroad (UK, USA, France, Germany, Mexico, Cyprus etc).
