The Faculty trains students in the following specialities (majors):
- Philology
- Linguistics
- Journalism
- Psychology
- Public relations
The academic staff includes 11 full members and corresponding members of academies of science, 36 professors, 69 associated professors, 73 teachers and lecturers. It has more then 2050 students from Russia and 70 foreign countries.
There are 8 Academic Chairs and 1 specialized independent course:
- Foreign languages
- General and russian linguistics
- Pedagogic and psychology
- Mass communications
- Russian and foreign literature
- The russian language and its teaching methods
- Theory and history of journalism
- Computer technology
- The course of “ Modern technology of mass communication”
The Faculty maintains co-operation links with some Universities in Poland, France, Spain, Egypt, China and other countries. The students of the Faculty undertake practical classes in the Campus TV studio and in the editorial office of the University’s newspaper “Friendship”. Students participate in the activity of the “Club of Funny and Clever” and “Miss PFUR” contests.
